Flower Delivery to Wollongong,NSW
The seaside city of Wollongong and its sibling industrial hub Port Kembla sit on a slender finger of land between the Tasman Sea and the beautiful Illawarra escarpment. Bejewelled with surf beaches to the east and lush rainforest hinterland on soaring sandstone cliffs to the west, the Illawarra area extends from Windang in the south to Helensburgh in the north and Wollongong sits at its centre, enjoying everything this region has to offer. Home to the Dharwal / Turuwal people, the area was placed on European maps when the sea-going explorers, George Bass and Matthew Flinders landed at Lake Illawarra in 1796. Forest cutters followed by farmers settled the area then a military installation was formed near the harbour. The stunning Bulli Pass down the escarpment was hand built by convict labourers in the 1830s opening up the area to more travel. While beautiful, the Bulli Pass can’t beat Wollongong’s other famous road the Sea Cliff Bridge which hangs out over the water just off the coast providing a unique view of the water and cliffs.
